A WEEKEND THAT WAS, AND WILL BE, AT CHARLOTTE FOR BRP

Some may say it is the most exciting time of year. There is definitely something to be said about the best dirt modified drivers in the business, culminating in one area to push the envelope and deliver the best show on dirt. Bringing along with them, the world of Outlaws late models and sprint cars. It sure does make for a great few days of racing.

Last year’s event was an outstanding one for BRP as Danny Johnson rolled his Chris Gennarelli owned machine into victory lane on Friday night. Then on Sunday night, after a delay in weather on Saturday, it was the Tim Kerr show. Kerr was all smiles as he parked his Bicknell Chassis in front a sold out crowd, picking up his first Super DirtCar Series win. The driver from Picton Ontario was the fastest all feature long and it wasn’t long before he was showing the way. It was definitely one that many will remember for some time to come.

This year will be another exciting year as Matt Sheppard looks to clinch his 5th Super DirtCar Series title, this time once again, back behind the wheel of a Bicknell Racing Products Chassis. One could say that some people were skeptical that Sheppard was not going to have the year that he has had after announcing last winter that he was leaving HBR to start his own team (Matt Sheppard Motorsports) and would be rejoining partnership with Bicknell Racing Products. Sheppard has proved time and time again that no matter the circumstances, his knowledge, eagerness to learn and perseverance are what keep him at the top of his game. Sheppard leads Friesen by 218 points going into this week’s event. With a season like no other, picking up 10 feature wins, 19 top five’s and 20 top ten’s. Since the start of the season earlier this year in Volusia, Super Matt has showed why he is the one to beat.

This past weekend saw the Dirt track at Charlotte host the DirtCar Sportsman Series. Bicknell Racing Products customers showed why they are #1. Taking home the checkers in both Saturday nights events. Ron Davis extending his outstanding 2016 season, picking up the checkers and the $4,000 pay out in the first feature event of the night. Brad Rouse was the hard charger, bringing home second coming all the way front the ninth starting spot and Dany Gagne came home 3rd.Then the All-Star Northeast feature saw  Dany Gage lead the field to his first win in a BRP chassis. Gagne looked very comfortable behind the wheel, leaving Charlotte with 2 outstanding finishes.

Bicknell Racing Products wishes to congratulate all drivers that attended Charlotte this past weekend on their outstanding accomplishments and send our best wishes to all drivers heading to the Dirt track for racing this weekend.

The Bad Boy Buggies World Finals from Charlotte kick off on Thursday evening, October 27 with qualifying heats for all divisions. Features for all divisions will follow on Friday and Saturday nights. For more information you can log on to charlottemotorspeedway.com
