The Stands and the pits were packed at Georgetown Speedway
for the Mid-Atlantic championships held this past weekend. 223 entries between
nine divisions in the pits put on a fantastic show for the tracks season
finale.
Friday night Duane Howard was all smiles in victory lane as
he rolled his Norm Hansell owned #357 onto the front stretch. He explained that
it hasn’t been the year that the team had hoped for but the team worked hard to
put the car in the winner’s circle that night.
The night started off good for Howard who came out the gate
strong. Howard and HJ Bunting both won their heats on Friday night, earning
them an extra $50 from the nights sponsor.
After winning the heat Howard earned himself a spot in the
redraw where he was able to pull the pole position. Everything seemed to be
working in Howard’s favour Friday night.
From the drop of the green flag, Howard would lead every lap
of the 30 lap feature event and go on to collect more than $3000.00 in purse
money. Ryan Godown would hold on to 2nd while Jordan Watson, Craig
Von Dohren and HJ Bunting would round out the top five.
