Just over a week ago the Coffey-McCreadie Enterprises, Sweetners
Plus number 39 was sitting in the body bay at Bicknell Racing Products being
assembled. It was a team effort to get the car ready for delivery, from wiring
to parts and body panel installation, it was all hand on deck so the car could
be turned over to the Coffey-McCreadie team to finish for the Big Show this
past Tuesday evening at Albany-Saratoga.
“Some things just work out” explained McCreadie, who had a
great performance holding off Matt Sheppard, Stewart Friesen and many others. McCreadie
was fast from the gate. Although it as a long race, 100 laps to be exact,
McCreadie soon moved into the second spot. Knowing he had a fast car, he kept
applying pressure to then leader, Larry Wight. McCreadie would fall back a few
laps later as Stewart Friesen would move his way up through the pack to secure
the second spot. McCreadie now falling back to third, would be challenged by
Matt Sheppard who would also get by. Now sitting fourth right up until lap 74
when the caution would come out and McCreadie would have a chance at the lead again.
With the field bunched up, McCreadie hit the gas on the
restart, and the car seemed to take off like a rocket. In 1 lap McCreadie took
the lead, blasting around the outside of the track, riding the cushion. He
seemed to have a definite advantage over the rest of the field. However things
would change in the last 10 laps of the race.
McCreadie would hit lap traffic and the field would start to
close in behind him, making up ground corner by corner. McCreadie was able to
hold on to claim his first Big Block win since 2011 and take home the ten
thousand dollar pay out.
Congratulations to Tim McCreadie and the entire Coffey-McCreadie
Enterprises Team!
